Thank you to everyone who attended the Locked & Loaded Original WA Band showcase at Lynott's Lounge.
Our first attempt to do something directly related to supporting our local Western Australian artists and by all accounts a nice first hit out.
Locking in 4 acts (Ammify, Jackoranda, Bravo Inverno and my very own Treachery Of Ravens) the goal was to showcase the varied and amazing talents of WA's very own artists who might not always get a spotlight shone upon their music and performances.
I was super impressed with the depth, texture and sheer professionalism of every band taking the stage. From the emotive, heavy riff driven fair maiden cries of Ammify (in their first live gig ever), the laid back casual confidence exuded by frontman Jack of Jackoranda, that was of a conversation than a set to the take no prisoners, proudly commerical sounds of Bravo Inferno who are a Killers meet Hunters & Collectors esk band with catchy chorus hooks and cleverly crafted lyrics.
All in all, I was extremely humbled to share the stage with these amazing musicians whom I'm lucky enough to call friends.
As always I can't speak highly enough about my band mates and yes it's true, the pic above is sporting someone new... Due to ongoing health concerns, our debonnaire dynamo Ms Justine Renzullo has taken an extended leave of absence hence welcoming our new guitarist Mr. Peter Renzullo (yup they're brother and sister and yes it does run in the family). Pete has settled in fantstically and will be with us for the forseeable future.
In the meantime we wish Justine a steady recovery as she moves forward with her treatment and extend our deepest gratitude to Pete for stepping in and stepping up to become an official Raven.
